- Discussion of technology troubling: questions of access and privilege

- Abundance but not equally shared

- Is Open Space accessible  to everyone?

- I felt connections

- Talk with "new" people in a familiar group

- Expanded view of facilitation and collective

- Heart-share; deeply moved by the beauty of exchanges

- Balance of and relationship to tensions of charismatic leaders and/or the idea of guru in spiritual practice - how does it support and impede growth?

- Collective leadership is about love and power

- Holding the tension of power

- Using/building a common language

- Time/permission to land/arrive

- Apprciation/frustration with opening exercise

- "I didn't believe it" (content, theme, integration) - "its really true"

- Stressful, need structure - tell me what to do

- Pairs/story activity

- Appreciate everyone's energy

- Energized, inspired, awesome

- Miguel's presentation, conception of place

- Human-ness of technology and communities - spirit of community, what we can learn from prisons

- Succession/legacy; re-inspired by conversations, messages from youth

 Some Ideas and Approaches

- Vary the ways of storytelling

- Bring the questions back - these are the things/ideas that came up for me, what do you think? Approach is situational.

Day Two is devoted to open space.  Some of the open space sessions were assigned rooms and posted on the Open Space Scheduling Board to accommodate AV needs.  All of the open space sessions were announced at the start of Open Space.  You can get an idea of some of the contributions by visting the community contributions abstracts.  Much of what was offered during open space emerged spontaneously.

9:45 AM - 4:30 PM  Open Space/Community Contributions Begins

Noon - 2:00 PM       Buffet Lunch Available in the Commons (Lunch and Breaks during open space are self-monitored)

4:30 - 5:30 PM        Community Sharing: Creative Expressions from Open Space Experience

 5:30 – 6:00 PM       Community Closing Reflections

- Difficult to manage leadership in an organization that can be hierarchical - individual processes, costs, decisions etc.

- Define terms if possible as a group

- Collective leadership: a leadership type or the collective nature of leadership dynamics/work

- Collaborative leadership vs collective leadership

- Integrating hierarchy - when does this happen?

- Less questions more answers; more debate about the solutions

- Dig into collective leadership in Open Space

- The challenge of wanting more connections with each other

- The theme of the gathering should be woven in Open Space/Community Contributions

- The more questions you have, the deeper the learning

- We may have to find our own answers

- Collect out thoughts, definitions, vision of collective leadership

- Being in Open Space allows answers that are there

- Maybe missing an opportunity of BEING in collective leadership with each other(i.e.; physical space, tables, chairs etc.)

Evening Dine Arounds – dining and entertainment in and around the Baltimore area - Sign Up in the Commons
