A Little About Creating Space

The Leadership Learning Community grew out of a national gathering called "Creating Space." The name has significance because it embodies an important LLC commitment to creating space for the community to self-organize around the questions that emerge from the work. The LLC hosts Creating Space each year for members of the community to learn about each other, share lessons and innovations, and collectively identify learning priorities. We are an open and diverse community of leadership development program staff, alumni, scholars, service providers, and funders committed to strengthening leadership development efforts. All who share in this committment are welcome.

Our most recent gathering, Creating Space VIII – Working Together: Exploring the Collective Nature of Leadership, took place April 11-13, 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Past Creating Space Gatherings

In past years, much of the learning that occurred at Creating Space was captured informally through participant and convener meeting notes. However, following the 2002 meeting, LLC began creating a virtual complement to the conference that continues to grow with each year.
